Separation is a lie

It is time that we open our minds to see the truth of reality. The truth is Consciousness is everything – no exceptions, and Separation is a terrible and deadly lie.

Consciousness is the field of life. It is the intelligence that breaths in and through every single thing and every being on the planet. Consciousness is the living breathing pulse of the Universe and everything in it. Consciousness is what has created us and moves through us in life and in death. Consciousness cannot die it is an eternal energy and intelligence that all things are created from. Consciousness is God.

Since Consciousness is everything – no exception, it is impossible to be separate from anything or anyone. We are all a part of the same whole of Consciousness. You and your sister are One. You and your neighbor are One. You and the homeless person down the street are One. You and your enemy are One.

This is not a popular notion. Our nation of rugged individualism insists that I am strong alone, I am my own person, I am separate from the. I can go my own way, make my own choices, live my life without thought of others. I need no one. But this is a lie. For as John Donne’s infamous poem reminds us:

No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thine own, Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee.”

This thinking, this separation in thought and action is the source of all violence and suffering. We would not move to harm or kill another if we realized that we are the same being, part of the same whole. We would honor one another. We would band together to help and support and thrive. Loneliness and the feelings of separation are at the core of much of our mental and physical illnesses. We suffer and die inside when we sever our ties to each other, to Consciousness, to the whole.

The reality is that we have only made it as a species on the planet because at our core, in our DNA, we are hard-wired to cooperate. We need to work together to survive. We need to communicate (to commune, to make common) with each other to thrive. And if we want to evolve further, we must learn that our ways of communication are antiquated. We must tap into the Consciousness that binds us, to heal and to elevate our conversation.

The next time you look at someone and begin to judge, stop. Think to yourself: “I am she, she is me, we are one!” Open your mind to the Consciousness that moves through you and your neighbor and find a way to commune. Begin to see the Bond between you and everyone around you.
