I realized recently that much of The 100th Human and the Keys are about that moment of breakthrough. This moment fascinates me. It is that ah-ha moment when a new way, a new idea or a shift takes place in your consciousness and things are not the same afterwards. Each of the previous 8 Keys can open doorways within our hearts and minds to new opportunities for these types of breakthroughs. The final key accelerates the process illuminating several hurdles on our way to the transformations we seek. As we explore this process and these ideas we are empowered to chose the path toward breakthrough - the upward spiral leading to greater awareness, purpose, happiness and peace.

In the 100th human there was a final transformation for all mankind - a shift in consciousness that forever changed who we are - a global awakening. While this type of shift exits in our consciousness, the real shifts are within each of us, are usually not so global (though occasionally they may feel like it) and can happen as often as we are open to them.

Together we will explore this final Key which encapsulates so many ideas all at once that it was impossible for me to separate them. Forgiveness leads to and comes from deep Love. Reverence also springs forth from Love and security in that Love. Love itself, the true Power of the Universe, is not something we can pin down with a few words. It is a power beyond any language. It can only be felt, and its essence is pure Connection.

I was asked once why I didn't include Love as one of the Keys. The reason is because Love is the power behind every Key. It is the connection that leads us to our Purpose, it is the connection to God we discover when in Silence. It is the connection to Infinite Possibilities. It is the connection that reveals our Unity with all others and all things. It is the connection that reveals our true Identity. It is the connection to the moment providing real Freedom. It is the connection we feel when we are in a state of Gratitude. And here in the final Key - Transformation - We surrender into the Love and the connection we know when we Forgive. Love opens our hearts to see and revere the God in each of us. Love is the Power, the Connector and the Result. Love is all there is.
Don't wait for something to happen to feel grateful. Feel gratitude first and then look around at how many things you already have. Gratitude isn't a result of fortunate things magically showing up in your life. Gratitude is an attitude, a state of being, which when adopted illuminates all the magic that already exists in every day of your life.

Decide to be grateful today and everyday no matter what. Don't treat gratitude as a result you have to wait for. Adopt it as your natural way of thinking and being. Be grateful first thing each morning as you awaken to infinite possible blessings and teachings.

Then at the end of each day, be grateful for what the day brought. Be thankful for all you learned, all you did, all you have and all you are.

When we have gratitude no matter what then we are blessed no matter what. Let your life begin and end in gratitude.
BJ was one of the kindest, gentlest spirits I have ever met. As I sat in the service thinking of the few short years I had known BJ, I marveled at how people come in and out of our lives but touch us forever. BJ touched me and my family greatly.

In reality, we can not survive modern life alone any more than we could survive alone in the past ages of man. Alone we are too vulnerable and weak to withstand what life brings our way. But with the help of others, we become stronger and more adaptable. We are hard-wired for connection and it is a good thing; because it is key to our very survival.

As I look back on my life I see many people who have come in for a time. Each one taught me things, each one helped me, each one made me a stronger and better person from experiencing their presence.

It is not only our physical beings that needs the help and fortification of others. It is also our mental, emotional and spiritual beings which are enhanced and made more whole as we interact and share our lives together.

Today, I am so very grateful for my connection to BJ and all the richness that she brought to me and everyone who knew her. And I am grateful for my connection to all the others before her and who will come in my future. Connection to others makes life livable, full and blessed. Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-474949420527563152013-01-31T05:59:00.000-05:002013-02-07T06:38:48.844-05:00ChallengesOne of the hardest things to be grateful for is our challenges in life. We naturally want to avoid challenges, trials and difficulties. As parents we want our children to have an easy time of growing up. We only want those people around us that are complimentary and easy to get along with.

But it is the challenges that teach us the most. It is the trails that give us opportunity to become stronger more resilient human beings. It's those really difficult people that can make us think, cause us to define our objections and become more clear on who we are and what we will stand for.

Our responses to challenges and trials are what defines us. When we persevere and overcome we know our capacity and our worth. We should be very grateful for all the difficulties we have experienced for they have chance to become who we are.

When we are in the middle of difficult moments, it is hard to be grateful for them. But once we are on the other side, have overcome, we should reflect and allow gratitude to be part of our response and our process.

We shouldn't go looking for challenges, but when they come our way, we should see them as what they are: opportunities for growth. And growth is something to be grateful for!Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-20255835912342514282013-01-28T13:11:00.001-05:002013-02-07T06:39:10.346-05:00Gratitude vs. ScarcityGratitude erases scarcity thinking. Scarcity thinking creates scarcity. Gratitude creates prosperity thinking. Prosperity thinking creates prosperity.

Scarcity thinking comes from fear and wanting. These thoughts and energies are spent on what we do not have, what we want, what we can not have, want seems beyond our control or ability to obtain. It makes us feel powerless and limited. It is depressing and defeating.

Grateful thinking comes from our appreciation in the moment. These thoughts and energies are spend on what we have, what abundance fills our every moment of life. It shows us how we are creators and benefactors. It strengthens us and turns our attention to the unlimited abundance of the Universe. It is joyful and empowering.

We do not need to, nor can we truly, create the lives we envision from a place of scarcity. It is only in gratitude where we find the power to be the change we wish to see in the world. It is only in the hope and power of gratitude that our true creative nature can shine.

"If you look at what you have in life,
you'll always have more.
If you look at what you don't have in life,
you'll never have enough."
Oprah Winfrey Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-17047756151498886692013-01-28T11:25:00.001-05:002013-01-28T11:25:23.831-05:00Full of Gratitude NowGratitude is in the moment; in the moment is Gratitude. This means that if you are feeling thankful, content and peaceful; your are in the present moment. Also, if you are in the the moment, here and now and you stick with it, you will feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude.

A pure state of gratitude can enter our beings when we are fully in the moment. Getting to a state of gratitude takes mediation, dedication and commitment. But it doesn't need to be difficult.

If we sit for a while and open our awareness to all the blessings in our lives in any given moment, a powerful state of gratitude will overtake us and can wash over you with so many things to be thankful for, you can barely think keep track of them all. It can go something like what follows.

I am grateful for:

Warmth, clothing, fingers and toes, food and clean water, cushions to sit on, clean air, fire, sun light. Thoughts of clarity and thoughts muddled to make the clear ones all the better. Words, literature, knowing how to read and write. Instruments like pens and paper and ipads, keys and keyboards, pixels and computer chips. A house, a warm house, a quaint, cozy, comfortable warm house. Windows and doors, rugs and beds, pillows and towels. Hot water, hot showers, hot tea. Coffee from brazil. Orange juice from Florida or California. Potatoes from Idaho. Green beans from my back yard. Family, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, children and grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Forefathers and foremothers, defenders and nurturers from days gone by. Friends and coworkers, support and laughter, pushing and pulling, talking and silence. Learning, and learning and learning. The internet. Brains and legs and arms and hands and feet. Socks and jackets and hats and gloves. Wood and trees and plants and vegetables. Winter snow, spring thaw, summer heat and fall breezes. Wine and beer and people to share it with. Wife, partner, friend. Music and movies and books and plays and paintings and crafts and things to do with our hands. Jobs and work to fill our days and remind us that we are creators. Green grass, flowers, bees and honey. ice and ice tea. Short winter days and long summer days. Pickup trucks, snow plows and good tires. Toilets and toilet paper. Cooking indoors and cooking outdoors. Cows and chickens and goats and pigs and horses and cats and dogs. Life and death and new life again. Beginnings and endings and new beginnings. Tears and chuckles. Peace and quiet. Love. Now.Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-53547145538176429432013-01-25T07:18:00.005-05:002013-01-26T14:31:16.785-05:00Gratitude: the antidote for foreboding joyOver the last year, I have had the privilege to discover and learn from Brene Brown. If you are one of the two people left in the English-speaking world who have not seen her Ted talks. I encourage you to go and watch them. Once you have seen her talks, then go buy her books, you will learn a great deal about yourself!

One of the things Brene talks about is "foreboding joy." She describes it as that feeling that comes over us when something good happens. You know when everything goes right at work one day and instead of feeling joyful about it, we wonder what's going to happen next - surely something terrible. Or when we are staring at our beautiful children sleeping and after a brief moment of bliss we begin to worry about everything that can or will happen to them for the rest of their lives.

Brene points out that this is a modern condition that keeps us from feeling joyful. And since we aren't feeling joy often, we don't have the resources to deal with bad things when they do come up. Joy fills our cup and builds resilience so we are better able to deal with life's bumps and bruises.

How do we change this habit of foreboding joy and begin to fill our lives with job again? Gratitude!

"Scarcity and fear drive foreboding joy. We're afraid that the feeling of joy won't last, or that there won't be enough (for whatever is in store for us next..." If the opposite of scarcity is enough, then practicing gratitude is how we acknowledge that there's enough and that we're enough."

How do we "practice" gratitude? Brene mentions keeping a gratitude journals, filling gratitude jars, and family gratitude rituals. These are all great practices. I find first and foremost we have to understand how important joy is for ourselves, our life and the health of our family. Once we have a commitment to joy, we can find all kinds of ways to use gratitude to bring feelings of joy back into our days.

So the next time a joyful moment comes into your life, and instead of feeling it you begin to wonder when the "other shoe will drop" stop and take a moment feel grateful instead. The foreboding will leave you with only joy to fill the space and your life.

"Daring Greatly" by Brene Bown, 2012 Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-25448679899655185052013-01-24T06:32:00.002-05:002013-02-06T06:00:05.295-05:00Gratitude vs. Fear Gratitude and Fear do not coexist. When we are feeling fear, we are not being grateful. When we are grateful we are not fearful.

When fear dominates our focus is not on the present. It is either on the past or the future. When we are fearful everything constricts including our heart.

To turn that constriction into openness we have to shift our focus to what we are grateful for. Gratitude is a present moment emotion, it brings you back to now.

Fear is not stronger than gratitude. It only seems so because we practice it more. We habitually sink into fear easily and without a fight. We must create habits of gratitude.

When gratitude becomes a natural part of our focus, we become powerful in our ability to chase away fear.

Strengthen yourself by practicing gratitude! Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-42636650872695652622013-01-23T06:27:00.000-05:002013-01-23T06:27:32.797-05:00Start with one thingGratitude should not be so difficult for those of us who live in the western world. We have so much to be thankful for; we should be blissful all the time. But this is not the case. If anything, more stuff, abundance and wealth seems to often disconnect us from what should mean the most.

We have to begin to change the way we think and what we focus on. When we are always focused on those things that we want to change, that are not quite right, that are less than our ideal (or our neighbor's), we loose site and sink into wanting and scaricy, which leads to unhappiness.

If we can turn that tide in our thinking by focusing on one thing that we can be grateful for: one person, one event, one circumstance that we are truly grateful for. For me it is my relationship. I have the easiest, kindest, and most compatible relationship I have ever known. We love and we laugh. We have ups and downs, stresses and challenges. But our kindness to each other, our love for each other and our commitment to each other sustains us through them all. When all the challenges of life buffet me, when moments of uncertainty come and confidence wanes; I turn to my relationship and feel grateful.

We each have to start with something in our lives that brings us back into our hearts, to moments and thoughts of gratitude. Gratitude is a powerful emotion. It can shift a rotten day, or turn you around when you are heading in the wrong direction.

Focus your thoughts on that one thing, really feel how fortunate you are to have that in your life. As you begin to feel gratitude, stay with it, let the feeling spill over into other areas of your mind. Once you have anchored the feeling of gratitude firmly in our being, stretch those feelings to more things you can be grateful for. If you stick with it long enough, your mood, your day and your life can change. You will be a happier person by far than you ever thought you could be.Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-39141218172300854792012-12-20T06:37:00.001-05:002012-12-20T06:37:46.970-05:00December 20The final day:

Leaving Ida, the trio take off into the cold morning on the four wheelers. When they stop for gas, they meet Scot who kindly loads them up and takes them to Pine Colorado. When they arrive at the B&B in Pine, they meet Sam Hutchinson who reveals the 7th Key: Gratitude.

Meanwhile, Nathan has issued the kill order and arrived at the B&B. The chase commences into the hills, into the night, toward ancient Native lands.

Our other friends, Marie, Ben, Melvin and Chuck all feel the affects of the 7th key, as does Abdul Qadeer - a muslim extremist who is delivering the final ingredients to begin a nuclear war.Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-85775782534624728162012-12-19T06:10:00.001-05:002012-12-19T06:10:20.703-05:00December 19Jack, Alana and Apu wake up in the cabin in the mountains of Colorado. They spend the morning in meditation and then turn their attention to the next symbol - which they learn from Rabbi Zimmerman at the synagogue in Denver is the Tetragrammaton. The Rabbi explains the powerful meaning of the 5th key: Identity.

We check in on Marie and her family, Melvin and Chuck and we also meet Ben and how each are affected by the 5th symbol.

Meanwhile, Nathan, a ruthless leader of the Veni Vicus have used Marie, Jack's ex-wife to find them and are closing in on the cabin in the mountains. When they return they have little time to escape and no escape routes.

They finally decide to use the four-wheelers that are in the shed out back, sneaking out the back door just before Nathan and his men come in the front door.

The trio barely escape with their lives into the cold, dark night into the hills. After many long cold hours, they find themselves at the cabin of Ida Hornberger who happens to be the gatekeeper for the 6th Key: Freedom from Fear. Ida explains how living in the moment is the only way to handle fear and realize true freedom. The symbol for this key is the ancient Amagi.

They finally rest for the night at Ida's cabin.

Have you thought about how your life is incorrectly identified with things? How can you change that?

When you are feeling fear, consider that you are either living in the past or the future. In this moment, you are free.
When they used technology to check-in on friends and loved-ones, little did they know that the Veni Victus were waiting for them.

Have to reviewed the first four keys:

Live your Purpose
Find time to Meditate
Believe in Infinite Possibilities
Understand that we are all One

Apu, Jack and Alana head into Arches National Park with Rene and Fritz: the gatekeepers of the 3rd key: Infinite Possibilities!

The Veni Victus regroup.

Melvin is doing much better.

Marie's husband finally found a job.

We meet Chuck Adams - truck driver and widower.

The group heads east once more into Colorado, but the weather and road conditions don't cooperate and they are stranded in a blinding snow storm until Jake Jenkins: the gatekeeper for the 4th Key finds them. Jake reveals the importance of Unity consciousness with his wife Sally.

Late in the evening, they finally arrive at Apu's grandfather's cabin near Evergreen Colorado.

Can you think beyond what your life has been like and open to infinite possibilities? Does it make your heart feel any different?

We desperately need Unity Consciousness in our world now!

Which of these keys expands your heart and mind the most?

Ram reveals to them the 2nd key.

We also meet Marie and her family and see how the second keys has an immediate affect on others.

Melvin is on the road to recovery, but it is a dark road.

Our gang heads east again.

The Director of the Veni Victus is given bad news.

What will they find in Moab Utah? Will the keys always come to them so easily? Will they have enough time to receive them all? Is the Veni Victus through?

Have you spent a few minutes quietly meditating today?Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-78021762795617591852012-12-16T09:48:00.001-05:002012-12-16T09:48:59.781-05:00December 15Sherman and Alice disclose the meaning of the first symbol: Live on Purpose - while visiting the caves of the Esselen Indians. Afterward they narrowly escape the area by heading out the back entrance of the Institute.

We also met follow what is happening to Melvin Cooper.

Finally the gang heads east toward Salt Lake City Utah.

What do you think they will find in Utah. Will the Veni Victus finally catch up to them?

What is your purpose?Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-84005036625911358342012-12-15T07:05:00.003-05:002012-12-15T07:05:52.427-05:00December 14Apu, Alana and Jack arrive in the US to find the Veni Victus there ahead of them. After a scare, they begin the process of figuring out the symbols and what they mean. Then head north to the Esalen Institute.

Meanwhile we get to know the leaders of the Veni Victus and their agenda.

Also we begin to meet some of the other characters which mark the power of discovering and adoption of the keys! Here we meet poor Melvin Cooper deep in his despair.

Finally, at the end of this long day Alana, Jack and Apu meet the next gatekeepers after Eligio: Sherman and Alice.

How can our gang help Melvin? Will Sherman and Alice really know what the first key means? How will that affect of friends and their mission? Will the Veni Victus catch up to them?

Eligio discloses the meaning of the Wall of Secrets and what the Mayan Calendar means.

The group is on the run from the local authorities!

How did Eligio's explanation make you feel?
How far do you think the Veni Vicus is prepared to go to stop them?Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-63640459530306553682012-12-12T21:20:00.001-05:002012-12-12T21:21:37.112-05:00December 12So much happened on the 12 of December between chapter 3 and chapter 12! Jack drives to town while remembering his son and wife. He makes calls, some good and some not so good. Alana agrees to join them but traveling to reach Jack becomes very difficult. Jack is questioned by the police and a government official. Then more traveling.

Don't forget that in chapter 9 we go back in time a couple of days to meet Eligio!

Wow!

What did you feel when Jack was remembering his son?
What do you think of Alana? Is she being too impulsive?
What lengths will Jack go to to protect his find?

Are you enjoying the story so far?Chris Fenwickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641933559233976020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339414.post-22386138362219340412012-12-11T06:48:00.001-05:002012-12-11T06:48:05.682-05:00December 11Jack and Apu begin deciphering the new relief but need help. Jack remembers Alana. Do you think she can join them?

Can you imagine what the wall actually looked like?

Calling all 100th Humans!

The countdown 2012 begins Monday, December 10th.

The
book The 100th Human - Countdown 2012 begins in Chiapas Mexico where an
earthquake opens the story by revealing an ancient Mayan ruin. That
earthquake happens on December 10th, 2012.

The fast-paced journey that follows takes Apu, Alana
and Jack on an action-packed adventure to unravel the mystery behind
the mayan symbols that transform their lives and save the world.

I invite you to join me in reading The 100th Human -
Countdown 2012 one final time before we reach the end of the Mayan
calendar and whatever is next. At the beginning of each chapter in the
book is the date. I will read that day's pages on each corresponding
date beginning on Monday, December 10th and comment here on my website: the100thhuman.com. Please comment back at will! If you need the latest copy of the book, you can order it on Amazon.

Join me! Let us align our thoughts and hearts as we
race through the story and the 8 Keys together. In the next 11 days, as
we approach this historical date, we have the opportunity to adopt the
Keys and transform our own lives - each becoming The 100th Human! If
enough of us align and adopt the 8 Keys (Purpose, Silence,
Possibilities, Unity, Identity, Freedom, Gratitude and Forgiveness) we
will change the outcome of our future. It is unavoidable.

Thank you all for your personal support of this book
and its messages of hope and transformation. Your love and support has
strengthened and encouraged me to continue to live and write about the 8
Keys and their power to transform. The story of the 100th human came to
me over eight years ago and changed my life's direction. My prayer has
always been that through its writing and publication, each of you would
similarly be changed for the better.

Blessings to each and every one of you! May we transition in peace!

Sincerely,
