Infinite Thoughts

“You can’t bring the same stale you to the world and expect the world to be new for you.” – Deepak Chopra

When it comes to seeing infinite possibilities in the world we first have to see infinite possibilities in ourselves. Our lives and how we think is a result of every decision we have made. To go or not to go, to eat or not to eat, to take this job or that job, to go on that date, return that call, smile at that person, go to this school or that school, or finish school at all, buy that house, or that car, or a thousand other decisions. Fill in the blank. All of those decisions define our lives now.

But what shapes our decisions? It is our thoughts that shape our decisions. How we think: positively or negatively, guardedly or carefree, hopeful or cynical; these thoughts shape our emotions and our decisions. Our state of mind is a result of continual thought patterns. We have to pay attention to what those thought patterns are in order to change them. If you continually get the same things in life, you have to change yourself. You have to bring a new you to the situation to get a new result. You can change your mind. You can change the way you think and therefore what your decisions are based upon. There are thousands of ways to think about a situation, and thousands more options that follow each thought. Your options are limitless.

Ingrained thought patterns can be changed with effort and motivation. You have to want to change them; they are habits and just like any other bad habit. They require your will and determination to change. But if you are tired of the getting the same results in life, you have to change yourself first. For in reality, you and your thoughts are the only things you really have control over in life. Change yourself, change your world and begin to open your mind to infinite possibilities.
